sebastian, i read the article a few minutes after it was posted and felt the urge to write immediately - i was troubled by some of its contents - but decided to hold this impulse down and let it settle for a few days before commenting. and i couldn't help it in the end.
this is a small thing, but why is it necessary to remark on amodeo's strong german accent? her welcoming introduction was very warm, very heartfelt and i can't make sense of this reference to her accent [still at a loss]. then, energy and health were just given as two relevant examples to illustrate how, to be adequate, research on complex problems should be guided by the principle of transdisciplinarity. and more than that, mittelstrass discussed METHODIC transdisciplinarity. i don't think that the spirit of the q and a involved any challenging of mittelstrass's ideas. the truly challenging question was posed by dean kaase - we are talking about transdisciplinarity in research, gibbons and novotny bring in relevance for social policy, but what about transdisciplinarity in teaching? but who was expecting a clear-cut answer to that? anyone having one? |
