Lately, I have been toying with the idea of purchasing an alpenhorn.  But I'm not particularly interested in the instrument's unique musical properties, I don't feel a pressing need to establish a Bavarian musical ensemble on campus, and I can certainly think of much cheaper ways to increase my lung capacity.

The 18th of April 2007 marks the 27th Anniversary of Independence for Zimbabwe.  Zimbabwe broke away from colonial rule in 1980 and has been led under the rule of Robert Mugabe. The 83-year-old strongman who has ruled since independence, led the main commemorations at a football stadium in Harare where the inaugural independence celebrations were held.

The figures are harrowing: 2.9 million people worldwide died of HIV/AIDS in 2006, and 39.5 continue to live with it, according to the international AIDS charity AVERT. But those working with AIDS awareness campaigns are quick to point out that statistics aren't enough to convey the scope of the problem.

Five goals from Yaw Fordjour, a brilliant finish from Eto'o, a tap in from Steven Bunga and an own goal from Laziz capped a rollercoaster game full of entertainment. Although Asia replied with goals from Samyam and Semir the end result failed to match their endless fighting spirit.
