Jacobs University prides itself on being a ‘highly selective, private institution’ but just how selective are we? In an interview with Marie Vivas, Pulse of the World was able to confront some stereotypes about admissions.

Jacobs University attracts between 600 and 800 applicants a year. Of these 57-62% are accepted. 48% to 53% of those admitted attend Jacobs University.

As one of Jacobs University’s guiding principles, internationality can be found in every academic and non-academic context. Therefore, spending a semester abroad and immersing into a different culture seems to come naturally to an internationally minded Jacobs’ student. In fall 2008 21 adventure seeking students decided to explore the academic environment beyond the “bubble”. For four months they became visiting and exchange students to universities worldwide from Argentina to Estonia, from Sciences Po to Rice University. Now back on campus they have reflected upon insights, experiences but also criticism about their semester abroad.

Anyone can fall out of an airplane; skydivers just do it right. Jenny Paturyan, together with seven Jacobs adventurers, successfully completelyed the"first jump" training at Ganderkesee Skydiving School and touched the sky on the 19th October.So what is the right way of falling out of an airplane on the altitude of 1200m?
